Play Station Portable (PSP), a console game by Sony, has been sold 70 million units in all around the world within 6 years. PSP was launched on December 2004 for the very first time. So far, there are several versions of PSP, starting from PSP 1000, PSP 2000, PSP 3000, PSP Go, and the latest one: Play Statio Vista.

Although the number of sales is decreasing day by day, its performance is still very good in several countries, especially in Japan. Last April, 58,075 of PSP were sold in Japan. However, with this number, PSP is still under its competitor, Nintendo DS that has been sold around 100 million units.

On October 2009, we were introduced with PSP go that is slimmer that its successors. It includes sliding design for the navigation panel, no longer in the left and right side. The size of PSP Go is 128 x 16.5 x 69 mm and the weight is 158 g, so it can be put in our pocket easily. However, it also impacts the screen which is around 3.8 inches. A normal PSP screen is 4.3 inches.

However, PSP go has a bigger memory size: they don’t use UMD drive but 16 GB flash memory. Those spaces can be used to save a lot of games. Moreover, the game console has been occupied with wi-fi for downloading the game online. There are two colors of PSP Go: piano black and pearl white.

While Play Station Vita that is just launched in E3 Exhibition will be sold at $ 249 for wi-fi and $ 299 for 3G connectivity. Connectivity is one of the main advantages offered. Sony Executive, Kazou Hirai, said that they will launch Play Station Vita in the beginning of this year holiday season.  He also explained that the latest gadget is designed to blur the ‘line’ between life and real life game with the presence of augmented reality technology and other features.

It is a good phase after last May 1 when Sony’s sites were attacked by hackers and he should apologize to customers from all around the world. They also have already covered 90% of their sites. Moreover, its sales have increased 27% compared to last year.
