JUNE 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PLANGENT PRESS LAUNCHES WEBSITE BOULDER, COLORADO—A new website is up and running for Boulder publishing company, Plangent Press, LLC. Visitors to the site, www.plangentpress.com, can learn about the company, its products and people, purchase books, and find corporate and author contact information. Plangent Press was established in early 2007 to present original literary works of fiction, non-fiction, and poetry written by emerging talent to a discriminating reading audience. Bonnie Mattingly, owner and manager, says, “Our product line includes books with strong regional connections told in authentic, engaging, and knowledgeable voice.” Currently, Plangent Press is debuting Saint Clements Bay: A novel of Remembrance, by author B.L. Lang. “Saint Clements Bay is a story with deep roots in the rich tradition of southern American writing,” said Mattingly. “Readers will find its Chesapeake Bay setting, endearing characters, and fascinating dual storyline make great entertainment.” She suggests that Saint Clements Bay is the perfect airplane or beach read and will appeal to readers of all kinds from young adults to Baby Boomers wanting a nostalgic look back at a time from their youth. In addition to showcasing new literary talent, Plangent Press seeks to improve our communities and the environment by donating a portion of profits from the sale of its publications to charitable organizations related to the content of the works. “As a business, we intend to be profitable, not just for the sake of profit, but to help new authors become established and, very importantly, to give back to our communities and to improve the health of our planet,” said Mattingly. Plangent Press plans to donate one-third of profits from the sales of Saint Clements Bay to support the clean-up and rehabilitation of the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed in Maryland and Virginia.
